Our company of volunteers are now in camp on the Fair Ground
awaiting arms and marching orders. Their height and age were
taken Wednesday when they were sworn in. As there were a great
many more offered than necessary to make up the company, the
Capt. had an opportunity of picking his men, and the ranks were
called after measurement, and the company reduced to the
neighborhood of one hundred men – good fighting material.
