Sheriff Fitzgerald now has five gentle men of leisure under his control. They concluded that they had been there long enough and Wednesday night tried to saw their way out but the Sheriff saw them saw and put a stop to their sawing. They thought they saw the way open to freedom, but Mr. Fitzgerald saw it would be a good plan to cage them up and they will have an opportunity to reflect on the vanity of all things they ever saw and make up their minds to be better and do better hereafter.
CALLIGRAPHY A goodly number are now in attendance at Will Clark’s writing and book-keeping classes, and all are working faithfully for that valuable prize – Worcester’s Unabridged Dictionary. These two important branches deserve attention and now is the time. All who begin this week or next Tuesday evening will receive the full course. Tuesday and Friday nights at the School House. All interested in these arts invited to visit the school.
Mr. A. J. Bartlett, at the Toledo Bakery has just received another lot of those celebrated candies made by Kranz, Chicago. These goods are the best in the market and Mr. Bartlett proposes to keep up his assortment al all times. He also has a nice assortment of Valentines from the cheapest grades up to the more elaborate and artistic styles. Call and see him when you want anything is his line.
Jas. Woodward is shipping butter and eggs to Denver, Colo.
Jesse Newcomer of Eldora was in town a couple of days last week.
