Mr. Joe Heemstra died at his home Friday morning. He was born at Arum,
Netherlands. He was married to Clara Van Veldhuisen. To this union 14
children were born, nine of whom are living: Mrs. Al Spykerman of Sanborn;
Mrs. C.
Noteboom (sic--Nootenboom) of Archer; Jake of Archer; Harry of Hospers, Mrs.
A. Uittenbogaard of Hospers; and Cynthia, Anna, John, Arthur, all at home.
Five children preceded him in death. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren
and 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
Funeral services were held at 12:30 P. M. at the home and 1:30 at the 1st
Ref.church. Burial was made in the cemetery west of Hospers.

On Friday morning Mr. Joe Heemstra took his life by hanging himself in the
hayloft of the barn at his home five miles east and 1/2 mile south of
Hospers. He is survived by his widow and 9 children and a host of friends.
Five children preceded him in death.
