SHELDON NEWS.
A nuptial event which eluded the vigilance of local reporters, or rather escaped it, with Miss Caroline Haag of Hospers and Mr. John Sweeney of Sheldon as the principals, was solemnized a fortnight ago. Details are not forthcoming at the time of going to press. Suffice it to state, however, that the lady in the case is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Haag of the former town, was educated in the local parochial schools, and has been employed in Sioux City immediately previous to her marriage. The fortunate young man is a son of Mr. and Mrs. M. G. Sweeney, of Sheldon, was educated in the schools of this vicinity, and has been for several months the proprietor of a pool hall at Alton. Congratulations, while tardy, are not the less sincere.
