Miss Judith DeJong was staying with Miss Helma Mieras while the
latters parents were gone for a few days.

Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Mieras and daughters Jessamine and Bernice and Mr.
Wm. Mieras and son Roland left for Odebolt Saturday morning for a few days
visit at the H.C. Kuhl home there.

Ella Mensink has been on the sick list a few days this week.

Charles, Hazel, and Eleanor Mieras and Florence Steel of Sioux City,
were visiting at the Ralph Mieras home Saturday evening. They came by car.

Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Mieras and daughter Mildred autoed to Paullina
Sunday, where they visited at the M.A. Mieras home.

Billie Mieras was visiting at the Jake Mieras home at Sioux City a
couple days lat week.

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Mieras and family autoed to Granville Sunday.

ROY VAN PELT DEAD

The funeral of Roy Van Pelt was held from the American Reformed Church at
Orange City Friday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. He was 21 years old, the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Van Pelt of Orange City. He worked at George Van
Roekel's about a month when taken sick. He was well known and liked by all
in this community and everyone was certainly shocked to hear of his death.
The heart felt sympathy of this entire community is extended to the bereaved
in this their hour of sorrow and grief.

Regular teacher's examination will be held in Orange City and Rock Valley
June 27, 28 and 29. Applicants must reach their eighteenth birthday by
September 1st, and must have had six months teaching experience or twelve
