Alton Democrat, July 23, 1910

Henry Engel of Seney, Iowa, was struck by an Omaha train on Thursday night of last week and killed. He and his companion, Matt Nagler—under the influence of liquor—had fallen asleep along the railroad track. Engel evidently had fallen down too near the rails and a passing engine struck him, crushing his skull. His companion, awakening from his drunken stupor—found him dead.
