LOCAL OVERFLOW:

The four year old baby girl of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kern, near Remsen, died Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Reiker who has just arrived from Lismore, Minnesota, left immediately for the Kern home near Remsen, accompanied by Mrs. John Kern. The funeral will be held this Saturday. John Kern will attend the funeral.

J.M. Mieras, Mrs. L. Mieras and H. Warntjes and family visited O’Leary Sunday.

had hopes that we could have said something more favorable.

LOCAL OVERFLOW:

The two year old baby boy of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kern who reside near Remsen died suddenly Monday. The funeral was held on Tuesday. This is the second child the family has lost within a week. At the present writing the mother is very sick. The home has been quarantined. We have been unable to find out just what is the trouble. The physicians do not state.

Mr. Olivier, that old settler that was stricken with apoplexy some days
ago, died at his home in the western part of (the) city, last week Thursday
afternoon. The funeral took place Monday, a large concourse of people
attending the funeral in respect of the fine old gentleman. The family have
the sincere sympathy of all.

Miss Dena Mieras, who was taken seriously sick early in the fall, has been rapidly gaining in health during the past month and is now in so far recovered that she has been able to come to town.
Little Miss Jessamine Mieras has been on the sick list this week.



Alton Democrat, December 17, 1910

One of Plymouth county’s early settlers, Mrs. E. A. Gosting, recently died at her home in Manchester. Mr. and Mrs. Gosting settled near Kingsley in the early eighties.
