H. C. Peterson has been quite ill all week.

Ole Oleson of Elm Springs, was in town Tuesday.

Prof. and Mrs. Blake drove to Beloit, Tuesday.

A phonograph delighted some of our citizens Friday evening.

Mesdames Chas. Felton and C. H. Felton went to Canton, Tuesday.

Lightning killed one of D. B. Cable’s fine steers Thursday night.

M. Kaufman and son Charley of Sioux Falls, were in town Wednesday.

Dennis Donovan of Sioux Falls was transacting business here Monday.

I. E. Grabill, our enterprising grain and hog buyer, took in two cars of
hogs last Wednesday.

Will Bauder and John Heck have gone to the Dakota Hot Springs and Will will
try the waters as a cure for rheumatism.

Manson Rozell, who has been traveling quite extensively through the west and
northwest this summer, came back here last week to take his old place with
his cousin’s threshing machine.

Rev. Jameson drove to LeMars Sunday to attend the funeral of his grandchild,
whose parents brought her remains from Correctionville to be interred with
some other loved ones who had gone before her. We extend our heartfelt
sympathy to the bereaved.

John Fissel, the 19 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Fissel of LeMars and
well known to a great many people in this city, died last Saturday afternoon
from a sun stroke, received while working in the harvest field on the farm
of Wm. Feuerhelm. His sudden and untimely death is a great shock to his
relatives and friends.
