SHORT AND SWEET.
Frank Brown is the first victim of a steam thrashing accident in this part of Iowa. He owned and operated a steam thrasher in Plymouth county. Last Tuesday he finished a setting and went to couple the engine onto the separator. The self feeder is between the apron of the machine with but little space. In making the couple steam was not reversed soon enough and Mr. Brown was caught between the engine and the machine. The water gauge and stopcock was broken off, and escaping steam literally cooked one side of his body. He lived until Monday night when he died. The accident happened in Elgin township.
