Seney Items--Mrs. William Lancaster, generally known as Grandma
Lancaster, died at the home of her son, John, Sunday morning, Dec. 14th, of
dropsy. She was 81 years of age and one of the earliest settlers of
Plymouth county. The funeral was held Monday afternoon and interment was at
the Seney cemetery. Services were conducted by Rev. Morrow, of the M. E.
church, of which she was a devoted member. She leaves an aged husband,
three sons and one daughter to mourn her loss.
(Transcriber note--A daughter Margaret did not survive her, but died in
1864.)
