ADMIT 35 TO CITIZENSHIP; ONE DISMISSED
Certificates to Be Awarded Class at Ceremony on April 8
Out of a class of 41 aliens applying for
citizenship rights, 35 were admitted at the conclusion of a naturalization
hearing held today in District Judge W.W. Scott's court. Nine of the 35 were
women.
Certificates of citizenship will be awarded the successful
applicants at a patriotic ceremony to be held in the district court on the
evening of April 3. Attorney Clark Filseth will deliver the principal address.
The program will probably be in charge of the Colonial Dames.
Four applicants for citizenship were denied papers at this
hearing and their hearings continued until September to give them an opportunity
to become more familiar with American history. One application was dismissed.
One applicant was absent.

Kuehl-Labath Wedding Saturday
An Easter eve wedding which took place at the parsonage
of Zion Lutheran
church was that of Miss Suzanne Labath, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Labath
of Telegraph road and Wilfred C. Kuehl, son of Mrs. D.S. Garner of Esplanade
avenue, the ceremony having been at 4 in the afternoon. The Rev. Carl Holtermann
officiated. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Specht, the latter a sister of the bridegroom
attended the couple.
The bride was in a gown of blue georgette and tan hat
and carried roses.
Mrs. Specht wore blue georgette and hat to match. Her flowers were also roses.
The wedding dinner of the evening was at the residence
of the groom and the
couple will reside with Mrs. Garner, the groom's mother, until they go to their
own home. Decorations were in the Easter flowers and colors.
Out of town guests included Mr. and Mrs. E. Bowens of
Atkinson, Ill., Mr.
and Mrs. Frank Zak of Racine, Wis., and Mr. and Mrs. Kolonich of City Point,
Wis. Mr. Kuehl is with the Kuehl Motor company of this city.
