The Bishop Funeral
Funeral services for Jacob Bishop were held at 2:30 p.m
Friday at the Horrigan home for funerals. The Rev. C.W. Harrop officiated at the
services at the home and at the grave in Rose Hill cemetery, Buffalo.
Mr. and Mrs. T.E. Dyer and Miss Catherine Stormer sang
"Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "Rock of Ages."
Pallbearers were Rev. Wayne, Rolland, Warren and Edward Secoy
and Kenneth Brann [or Braun].

MRS. MATT KNOPP AND MRS. STUBBS OF FAIRFIELD DIE.

Fairfield, Ia., Feb. 18 - The funeral of Mrs. Matt Knopp, Pleasant Plain, who died Friday afternoon in the Jefferson county hospital, was held this morning at 10 o'clock from St. Joseph's Catholic church in East Pleasant Plain. Burial was in the cemetery adjoining the church. Mrs. Knopp was 52 years of age and is survived by her husband and four daughters, Mrs. Leonard Greenfield of this city; Mrs. Frank Bannach and Miss Angeline Knopp, Pleasant Plain; and Miss Bernice Knopp, Des Moines; and two sons, Adam, East Pleasant Plain and Clarence of this city.
Mrs. R.E. Stubbs Dies.
Word has been received in Fairfield of the death of
Mrs. C.E. Stubbs, Feb. 6, in the Brown Palace hotel, Denver, Colo. She was 58
years of age.
Mrs. Stubbs is survived by a son, Logan Metcalf, Los
Angeles, and a sister in Chicago. Her husband who was the son of one of the
oldest families in Fairfield died in 1925. She has lived a part of the time in
California and a part of it in Denver since.

MRS. MATT KNOPP'S DEATH DUE TO FALL INQUEST DECISION
Fairfield, Ia., Feb. 22 - After a three days' inquest
into the death of Mrs. Matt Knopp, Pleasant Plain, Saturday, the jury returned a
verdict yesterday afternoon that death was due to injuries received from a fall
which she sustained while suffering from a cerebral hemorrhage.
Three doctors, three nurses and 13 relatives,
neighbors and friends appeared before the coroner's jury. Dr. N T North, county
coroner, called the inquest at the instance of the dead woman's brother, Anthony
Biski, Chicago. The inquest was heard behind closed doors, only the officials
and the witnesses being in attendance.
