Special to the Democrat
Fairfield, Ia, April 14 - John Kessel, Jr, and Miss Mary
Wade, both well known young people of this city were at 9 o'clock this morning
in St. Mary's Catholic church, united in marriage by the Rev. Father E.F. Gaule.
John is 21 and Mary 17 and their romance began in school days three years ago.
They began to save their pennies to buy their marriage license and Friday, the
13th, Mr. Kessel presented three small packages of 50 pennies each for the
license.
Mr. Kessel has been for some time an employe of The Dexter
company and as a wedding gift the company gave the bride a chest of silver. The
bride has been employed in the Fairfield Glove and Mitten company and she
received several electrical gifts from it.
