Davenport Daily Gazette; Davenport , Scott , Iowa ; May 19, 1865  

Mrs. Parvin, wife of John Parvin, late of Muscatine , died at Farmington on the night of the 14^th inst. Mrs. P. had removed to Farmington with her husband to take charge of the Orphan’s Home. The loss will be severely felt by a large circle in which her worth was well known and appreciated. Her age was forty-six years.  

Three roughs are under arrest at Burlington charged with robbing a Mr. Hull, from Mt. Pleasant , by decoying him out of the city a short distance and garroting him. The Hawkeye says the amount of booty was small.
