A New Year Wedding.
On New Year's evening at the home of the bride's parents in this city, occurred the plighting of two hearts in the holy bonds of matrimony. The contracting parties were Allen J. HARRIS, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. HARRIS, to Miss Lucy M. MILL, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jas. I. MILL, of this city. Promptly at 4 o'clock the hour set, while Miss Emma MERKLEY presided at the organ, executing the wedding march, the contraction parties entered the room, supported by Miss Lois WADDELL as maid of honor and Mr. L.J. McLAUGHLIN as best man, taking their place in one corner of the room which had been tastily draped and decorated, when Rev. J.T. LEE their pastor, pronounced the ceremony of the Methodist Episcopal church which united this happy couple and made them husband and wife. After congratulations of relatives and friends came the wedding supper which had been thoughtfully and carefully prepared. The bride is one of the popular young ladies of Schaller, refined in every sense of the word. The groom is an industrious young man and held in high esteem, and for the past year has been in the employ of the Inter State Elevator Co. It is the intention of the young folks to go to housekeeping on the JONES farm just west of the city, in the spring. There was a large gathering of relatives and friend to witness the ceremony, and Mr. and Mrs. HARRIS were the recipients of a large number of wedding presents both useful and ornamental. The Herald is glad to extend congratulations to so worthy a couple, and would wish for them a life full of peace and pleasantness, with the greatest degree of success possible.
