Personals:
~Mrs. Robert A. Sheperd left Wednesday afternoon for Kansas City,
Mo., to join her husband, Lt. Sheperd, who is stationed at Camp
Young, Calif. Lt. and Mrs. Sheperd will divide their time during
the holiday leave with the formers parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.
R. Sheperd at Thornburg, Ia., and in this city with Mrs. Sheperds
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond A. Smith.
~Lt. and Mrs. Bruce Glassburner and daughter, Kay Ellen, departed
a few days ago to reside at Lawton, Okla., while Lt. Glassburner
attends a battery executive school for the next two months at
Fort Sill. Lt. Glassburner spent a 10-day leave here with his
family and parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. R. Glassburner, following his
graduation at the officers candidate school at Fort Sill.
Arriving to spend the holiday season with Mr. and Mrs.
Glassburner were their daughter, Mrs. Ronald Peterson and
daughters, Peggy and Ruth Eleanor, of Davenport. They timed their
visit to see Mrs. Petersons brother, Lt. Glassburner.
Expected on Christmas eve is Mr. Peterson of Davenport and his
brother, Pfc. Norman Peterson, of Truez field, Madison, Wis. The
latter will be with his mother, Mrs. Mark Peterson.

28 HARRISON COUNTY MEN OFF FOR INDUCTION
LOGAN – The following 28 men from Harrison county were sent to an induction station Tuesday for their physical examination. Those who pass the examination will be sworn into one of the armed forces and given an immediate furlough of one week or more.
