Girls Take Lead in Christmas Births
“The Weaker Sex” was in the lead in the Christmas baby arrivals at the local hospitals according to a report up to early Saturday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. William Brown, 1425 Avenue C, were parents of the first holiday infant, a daughter born at 6:10 a.m. at the Mercy hospital.

The second Christmas baby, also born at the Mercy hospital, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Almond Ossian, 919 Avenue A. She was born at 7:30 a.m.

Beer Tavern Robbed of Cash, Beer, Cigarets
The Last Chance Beer tavern, 3760 West Broadway, was broken into and $12 in change, 24 bottles of beer and 10 packages of cigarets were stolen, Ross Grego, manager, reported to police Saturday. Entrance was gained through a basement window and forcing the stairway door leading to the tavern. The money was in a small tin box, which later was found in rear of a tourist camp, a block away.
