TWO SENTENCED AFTER ASSAULT
Admit Marshalltown Holdup Attempt.
(The Register’s Iowa News Service.)
MARSHALLTOWN, IA. – Less than 15 hours after they had participated in the hold up of Reba Robbins, 43, of Marshalltown, Delmar Coolidge, 27, and Ronald Worrell, 20, both of Marshalltown, entered pleas of guilty Saturday to charges of assault with intent to commit robbery.
Both were sentenced to indeterminate five year terms at the men’s reformatory at Anamosa by District Judge B. O. Tankersley.
Provision was made for recommendation of a parole for Worrell at the end of one year, depending upon his record.
The pair committed the holdup early Saturday after meeting Miss Robbins in a local sandwich shop.
Coolidge arranged to take the woman home and in the meantime his companion left and, wielding a gun, met the pair.
Both men were arrested 15 minutes after the holdup.
