VALLEY JUNCTION:
Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Mitchell returned home from a weeks visit in
Newton and New Sharon.
Dr. M. M. Schener left Monday evening for Dallas, Texas, where he
goes to attend the Railroad Surgeon meeting.
Mrs. B. Gregory is home from a visit with her sister in Bushnell,
Illinois.
Mrs. Chas. Vandenburg and daughter, Helen, are visiting relatives
in Elkhart, Indiana.
Mrs. G. Huges and Eldon and Miss Nellie Anderson of Des Moines
are the guests of Mrs. Letia Ross.
Mrs. C. Rollinds was called to Given by the illness of a
relative.
Mr. C. Braydon returned Tuesday to his home in Kansas after a few
days visit with friends.
Mrs. W. Kearney is home from a brief stay to Silvis, Illinois.

DEATHS.
Mrs. Mary Johnston, aged 84 years, died Tuesday afternoon at the
home of her daughter, Mrs. J. R. Allmart, 1014 East Seventh
street, after an illness of several weeks. The remains will be
taken to Princeton, Illinois, today for burial.
Tuesday morning at 7 o¹clock occurred the death of Mrs. Myrtle
May Deetk, 25 years of age, at the home of her sister, Mrs. H. F.
Deetz, 1925 Logan street. The deceased is survived by her father,
J. M. Gift and Mrs. F. C. Puckett of Des Moines.

DEATHS.
DIMMICK, H. H., 80 years, Civil War veteran, and a resident of
Iowa for fifty years, died Thursday morning at the residence of
his son-in-law, E. C. Holden, 1034 Ninth street. Funeral held at
2:30 today from the residence. Interment at Audubon, Iowa.
FASSETT, Mrs. Jennie, wife of C. M. Fassett, of Brookings, S.D.,
died Thursday afternoon at 3 o¹clock at the home of her son, S.
S. Fassett, 3803 West Second street. Mrs. Fassett had long
suffered from cancer and was operated on recently. The remains
will be taken to Brookings for interment.
FUNERALS.
Funeral services for the late B. F. Bowlin will be held Saturday
at 1 o'clock from the Newlen undertaking parlors. Interment at
Glendale.
