LOCALS

It is rumored that "Red" Atkins has sought other lands in which to wander.

Word has come of the serious illness of Dennis Hudson in St. Louis. Latest reports have it that he is convalescent.

John Garns is at Curlew, conducting the music in an evangelistic meeting.

Miss Estella Leggett spent Sunday, Oct. 17th, with her parents at Lathrop, Ia.

John Barclay got his whiskers mowed.

Miss May Birdsall delighted her many friends by paying them a visit for a few days. Arriving from Colfax, where she had been for her health, Oct. 14.

G.H. Ludeking a graduate of the Business College is now Asst. cashier of the Waukon State Bank. It is always gratifying to hear of the success of a graduate from any department of Drake.

E.E. Fitzsimmons, '97, is assistant principle in the Vilisca, Ia., public schools.

F.M. Morton visited his mother over Sunday at Colfax, Iowa.

Mr. Rollin Adkins, '96 musical, is contemplating taking up his studies in Chicago.

C.M. Edmundson has been forced to leave school on account of sickness.

A.J. McMahan, '96, known to many of the old students, is practicing law at Carthage, Ill.

Prof. Kinney was called to Corning, Ia. to testify in a liquor case being tried there. The Prof. vouched for the State in its attempt to prove that Patent Bitters and Rock Candy Cordial are something more than a cure for that tired feeling.

Mr. A.M. Edmunson, who was taken to the hospital Oct. 19 where he underwent a painful operation, is recovering and will be in school again in about two weeks.
