At Marshalltown, on the 20th, Charles Fagg was run over and
killed by a switch engine while walking on the C. & N. W.
tracks. It seems the switch engine was backing down to the water
tank, and the man's attention being distracted by an outgoing C.
ST. P & K. C. train, he was run over and instantly killed. He
lived in Marshalltown and leaving a wife and two young children.
He was just recovering from injuries received last fall while in
the employ of the C. St. P & K. C. Railway as a bridge
builder.
