Eugene C. Shelton shot and killed William Swanson, at
Marshalltown [Marshall co.], November 27, 1883. The trial of the
case was had at Marshalltown last week, and Shelton was acquitted
ont he ground of self-defense. Shelton is living with a mistress.
Swanson was a frequent visitor at the house, and Shelton becoming
jealous of him, purposely quarreled with him and killed him.
