This Button Means That Wearer Has Been Honorably Discharged
“The emblem nobody knows”—that’s the way someone has described the newly designed honorable discharge button! Since the beginning of the war more than 1,000,000 men have already been honorably discharged from the war and during the last week there have been many more.
Many discharged veterans have been embarrassed through the fact that many people didn’t know what the emblem indicated.
The veteran is issued his button free of charge upon his discharge. If the button is lost or destroyed, another may be obtained at cost (seven cents) by the veteran on presentation of his discharge papers to the Quartermaster Supply Officer at the nearest post, camp or station.
