Mr. and Mrs. John Conway and son, Judd Allen, of Luverne, Minnesota, C. E. Moore of LeMars, Floyd Moore and children of Paullina, Iowa, visited relatives here Decoration Day.
Alex McArthur, Charles Kunath and Jack Deegan spent Saturday fishing at Spirit Lake.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Conner and family of LeMars spent Decoration day in the home of the former’s mother, Mrs. Lizzie Conner.
Mr. and Mrs. Alex Nanninga and son James and daughter Judith, visited in the Frank Scholer home Decoration day.
Grant Chapman has been sick in his home in Seney the past week with a heart ailment.
Mr. and Mrs. Irving McArthur, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Burris and son Earl and daughter, Verna, of Sioux City, called on relatives here on Monday night, enroute to their homes after spending the weekend at the McArthur-Hantla cabins near Brainard, Minn.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Becker, Mrs. Roy McArthur motored to Westside, Iowa, Thursday, and were accompanied home by Miss Ruth McArthur, who closed a successful term of school and will spend her vacation in her home here.
Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Penning and daughter of Hawarden, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Emerson Kennedy, Doris and Dennie Kennedy of Sioux City, were weekend guests in the Albert Penning home.
Mrs. Mary Daugherty and son John, Harry Leonard of Afton, Iowa, arrived here Wednesday evening, returning to their home Monday on a farm near Afton, which Mrs. Daugherty has purchased.
Mrs. Marie Wonser, daughter Evelyn, and Mrs. Albert Penning motored to Hawarden Thursday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Elam Chapman and son Orville, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Cooper and children, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Chapman and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Chapman and daughter Jean, Miss Sadie Alderson, Miss Ethel Ewin, Vincent Lancaster, Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Lancaster and family, Mrs. Lizzie Hawkins and daughter Harriet, attended a family reunion and picnic at Plainview, Nebraska, where they joined the Alderson family of Elgin, Neb. The occasion was the birthday anniversary of several of the visitors.

Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Cooper of Sioux City were guests on Sunday in the home of Dr. and Mrs. D. O. Kime.
County Attorney Morse Hoorneman and Mrs. Hoorneman spent the weekend with relatives in Waterloo.
Hartzell & Evans of Early were last week awarded the contract for re-surfacing 39.7 miles of graveled primary roads in Plymouth County. The contract price was $7,932.
Lawrence Kobberman, a Sentinel employe, left Sunday for Brookings, S.D., were he will take a six weeks course of instruction in linotype operation at the state college school of printing.
Miss Gleva Binger, a sister of Mrs. W. M. Hubbard, who has been teaching in Onawa, is a visitor in the Hubbard home. She will leave for her home in Tulare, S.D., the latter part of the week.
Marriage licenses were issued Friday, June 13, at the court house to Rudolph Dreckman and Velma Gronemeyer of LeMars; Robert Brown and Lorraine Raetz of Remsen.
Mrs. W. A. Ewin of Austin, Minn., arrived Friday in LeMars to visit the Charles Ewin family and other relatives.
Gerry Groves, who spent his vacation in the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Groves, returned to Sterling, Ill., where he is employed.
Miss Marcella Godfrey, who has been teaching at Clinton, Iowa, the past year, is spending the vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chad Godfrey.
Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Plummer are visiting in Duluth, Minn., Niagara Falls, and will visit relatives in Connecticut before returning in two weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. John Rees and daughter, Janet, of Spencer spent Sunday in the Walter Bogen home. Mrs. Bogen returned with them to Spencer for a visit.
Ben Halter, who while living in LeMars for some time was employed in the Pech Foundry, held a sale of his effects Saturday and is moving his family to Chicago.
Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Miller spent the weekend in the home of Mrs. Miller’s brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Houston, at Plainview, Neb.
After a week’s visit in the home of her aunt, Mrs. Clyde Eastman, and with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. S. Gaynor, Mrs. Chris Hogan and daughter, Judy, returned to their home at Lincoln, Neb.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Pattison of Albert Lea, Minn., stopped in LeMars Sunday enroute to Sioux City to visit his mother, Mrs. W. F. Pattison, who is recuperating from an operation in a hospital.
Mrs. Mayme Redmond of Sioux Falls, S.D., is a guest in the homes of M. B. Redmond and Misses Mary and Anna Redmond.
Father’s Day dinner guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Striegel were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Millhollin, Mr. and Mrs. John Boyd, Karen and Maurine Millhollin, all of Sioux City, and Mrs. Grover Bechtle of LeMars.
Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Nanninga and Patsy and Virginia returned to Des Moines Sunday after a week’s visit in the Walter Bogen home. Jerry Bogen went with them to Des Moines for a two week’s visit.
Miss Evelyn Mauer, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. George Mauer, who taught at Mallard, Iowa, the past year, left Sunday for a trip to Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, New York City, and other points in the east.
Mr. and Mrs. Anton Sartori and son, Anton Jr., of Los Angeles, Calif., will arrive Tuesday for a two weeks visit in the home of Mr. Sartori’s mother and sister, Mrs. Anton Sartori, Sr., and Miss Rosemary Sartori.
The Ladies Aid Society of the First Baptist Church will meet in the church parlors Wednesday afternoon, June 18, at 2:30 with Mrs. W. O. Collins and Mrs. Robert Totman as hostesses. Mrs. A. Coppock will have charge of the program.
Mrs. May Stewart of Alhambra, Calif., is visiting her brother, Jas. Roddy, and her aunt, Mrs. Stewart has lived in California for the past seventeen years. She is a daughter of the late Bernard Roddy, who was drayman and popular resident in LeMars for many years.
The Presbyterian Missionary Society will meet in the home of Mrs. Scott Clarke on Tuesday, June 17, with Mrs. J. B. Langendorfer and Mrs. E. R. Truesdell assistants. Devotions will be in charge of Mrs. Harriet Campbell. The program will be under the direction of Mrs. Harry Burgard and Mrs. R. B. Howard. Everyone is invited to attend.
