Announcement has been made of the marriage of Lucille Tullis and Clayton
James, of Kingsley. The wedding took place in Canton, S. D., on January 25.
The bride is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tullis of Stanton
township. The bridegroom is engaged in the garage business at Kingsley,
where the couple will make their home.

Mr. and Mrs. Irving McArthur of Sioux City, were visitors in the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Al McArthur, Sunday. Mrs. Al McArthur has been very sick.

Members of the Samaritan Class of the Sunday School are planning an
evening’s entertainment to be given Friday, Jan. 7, in the hall. The
program consists of two plays, “They Also Wait,” a story of the southern
mountains, and “Testing the Teazels,” by Kathryn Wayne.

Miss Margie Riter was a visitor in the W. E. Hennrich home at LeMars, the
past week.

Mr. and Mrs. John Hartog have moved from the Hawkins residence into the W.
E. Hennrich house.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Carwell and family were dinner guests in the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Will Rees, Sunday.

Mrs. Ira Lancaster has been very sick the past week.

Mr. and Mrs. Marian Chapman are moving on the farm that is being vacated by
the John Lancaster family.

Mr. and Mrs. Elmer DeRaad are visiting relatives in Rock Rapids.

Mrs. Jane Hawkins has gone to spend the winter in the home of her son and
family, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hawkins.

Jack Lancaster has a new model Ford.

Mr. and Mrs. Will Criswell have returned from their wedding trip. This trip
included points in Colorado and the west. Mrs. Criswell was formerly Mrs.
Stella Hinde.

The Will Rees family were visitors in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lige Mars,
Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. Peter Keizer, of LeMars, were visitors in the home of their
daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Rees, Sunday.

Charles Ewin has returned from the Des Moines hospital. Mr. Ewin underwent
a very serious operation there and seems to be very much improved at this
time.

Several attended the show in Brunsville on Tuesday evening.

Berlene Clark, of Akron, spent the week with her friend, Annie Oltmanns, of
Brunsville.

Mr. and Mrs. Bill Borchers and daughter, Marie, and Mrs. Sam Diediker, of
Brunsville, were LeMars callers on Friday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Reese and Herman Oltmanns, all of Brunsville, were
visitors at the John Luken home of Westfield.

Johnny Wilken and Gene Dickman all of Brunsville are on the sick list.

Mr. and Mrs. Herman Renken were visitors at her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John
Dirks, of Brunsville.

Mrs. Minnie Harms and Mr. and Mrs. Reese of Brunsville were LeMars callers
on Saturday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Livermore and son, Orville, and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Harms,
all of Brunsville, were visitors at the Adolph Cook home on Saturday
evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Sam Early were visitors at the Jack Reese home of Brunsville on
Sunday afternoon.

Miss Leola Gerdes of near LeMars, was a visitor at the C. Richards home of
Brunsville on Sunday.

Mrs. Gert Siebens of near Brunsville was a visitor at the Mrs. Reese home of
Brunsville on Monday.

Mrs. Dena Diediker of Brunsville was a visitor in the Mrs. Otto Marienau
home of Brunsville on Monday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Walt Gerdes and family were visitors at the Mr. and Mrs. Louie
Plueger home of Brunsville, on Sunday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. John Haage were visitors at the Fred Cassen home of Brunsville
on Sunday afternoon.

Mrs. Stephenson of Brunsville is helping Mrs. Carl Popken of Brunsville with
her house work.

Mr. and Mrs. E. Dirks were visitors at the John Dirks home on Tuesday
afternoon.

Mrs. Tillie Peters of Brunsville was a visitor at the Mrs. Wilkens home on
Tuesday afternoon.

FINAL RITES FOR CHARLES WERTH


The funeral of the late Charles Werth was held Wednesday afternoon at the
farm home near Neptune. Rev. R. J. Torgler of Trinity Church, Lincoln
township, conducted the services. The pallbearers were Arthur Greenwaldt,
Will Janssen, Albert Kehrberg, Will Kounkel, M. Ruhland, Gus Schultz.
Interment was made in the Lincoln township cemetery.
