PATRICK McCOY DIES
Patrick McCoy, long time resident of LeMars, passed away at Alton today. The
remains are in charge of Wiltgen’s funeral directors and a more complete
story will appear in next issue of this paper.
A BULL STORY.
Merrill Record: Frank Hoese recently purchased a purebred Holstein bull from
a Wisconsin breeder for which he paid the handsome sum of $500.00. The
animal arrived last week by express with something like $65 express charges
on it. Those who have seen the animal say he is worth the price paid.

Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Branaka, formerly of LeMars, received bad scalp cuts, and
Mrs. George H. Blake sustained a fractured skull early Monday morning when
the Branaka car, in which they were riding was struck by a speeding
automobile in Rockford, Ill. The driver of the other car, a student named
Rebely Evans, was held under $1,000 bond. Branaka’s car was a complete
wreck.
CHURCH WEDDING AT REMSEN
Eldon Riter of LeMars Weds Maybelle Schorg
A pretty wedding took place Sunday afternoon at the Lutheran Church in
Remsen, when Miss Maybelle Schorg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Schorg, of
Remsen, became the bride of Eldon Riter, of LeMars, a son of E. H. Riter, of
Seney. The marriage service was conducted by Rev. A. Nyaacke, the pastor.
The bride was attired in a lovely dress of white satin back crepe with
trimming surmounted by a veil and carried a bouquet of bridal roses. Her
sister, Madeline Schorg, was bridesmaid and wore a pretty dress of lavender
silk with accessories to match The bridegroom was attended by his brother,
Dwight Riter.
A reception was tendered in honor of the young people at the home of the
bride’s parents and a fine wedding dinner served.
The young people will make their home in LeMars which Mr. Riter is employed
with the Penney company. He and his bride are popular members of the younger
set.
JENNY KOLKER BECOMES BRIDE
Popular LeMars Young Lady Weds Frigidaire Expert at Sioux City
Miss Jenny Kolker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kolker, of LeMars, and
Art Schiefle, formerly of Yankton, S.D., now connected with the Frigidaire
distributing agency at Sioux City, were married at the Cathedral, Sioux
City, at 8 o’clock Tuesday morning.
The couple was attended by Vera Wiltgen, niece of the bride, and Lawrence
Kolker, the bride’s brother. Only immediate members of the family were
present.
Mr. and Mrs. Schiefle will make their home in Sioux City.

FORMER LE MARS MAN IS CALLED.
Son of Mrs. M. E. Cavanaugh of West Le Mars Succumbs After An Operation.
Mrs. M. E. Cavanaugh, of West Le Mars, received word yesterday of the death of her son, E. E. Cavanaugh, at Williston, N.D.
Mrs. Cavanaugh knew nothing about the report, current here, that her son had been killed in an automobile accident. She said that she was informed that he had died after an operation in a hospital in Williston.
Mr. Cavanaugh was born in Dalton, now West Le Mars, November 6, 1891. An obituary will be printed in a later issue of the Globe-Post.

FUNERAL RITES HELD
Remains of “Buck” Cavanaugh Brought Here For Interment.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Beely undertaking parlors of E. E. Cavanaugh, aged 37, traveling salesman who died in a hospital at Williston, N.D., Saturday following an attack of appendicitis.
Mr. Cavanaugh spent his early life in Dalton and LeMars, where he was known as “Buck” Cavanaugh by his associates.
The services were conducted by Rev. T. P. Potter, of the First Baptist Church, and interment made in the city cemetery.
He is a son of Mrs. M. E. Cavanaugh, of West LeMars. Besides his mother, he leaves a brother and three sisters.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Vonderhaar, of Sheldon, came down yesterday to visit Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Dambrink and other LeMars friends. Mr. and Mrs. Vonderhaar lived in LeMars for many years in the earlier times.

Jack Hoorneman, of Sioux City, former well known resident of this city, was in LeMars Monday and attended the firemen’s banquet in the evening.
