John Witt Stricken with Heart Trouble, Dies Instantly

John Witt, a resident of LeMars for the past seventeen years, died very
suddenly at his home, 227 Third Avenue, SW., Thursday morning. Death is
ascribed to heart trouble to which he had been subject for the past four
years. Mr. Witt had arisen about 6 o'clock and was engaged in preparing a
cup of coffee for himself when he collapsed and staggered to a chair. He
was dead before members of his family could reach his side.

Mr. Witt, for fourteen years, was employed in the Plymouth Mills, and for
the past three years had been in the employ of the Wells Dairy company.

He was fifty-five years of age and was born at Grand Island, Neb., April 11,
1873. He was married a Pomeroy, Iowa, September 29, 1926, and is survived
by his wife and two daughters, Lila and Eula, who are teachers in Plymouth
county rural schools.

He is also survived by his twin brother, Herman Witt, of Missouri Valley,
his brothers, Ernest Witt, of Sioux City, and Charles, of Grand Island, and
a sister, Mrs. Mary Rooney, of Cairo, Neb.

Mr. Witt was a good citizen, and honest and faithful workman and had many
friends in LeMars. He was a good husband and father and devoted every
effort to provide happiness and educational advantages for his daughters.

The funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at St.
John's Evangelical church, Rev. P.V. Dyck, the pastor, officiating.

Young Farmer Weds
Lloyd Dobbert is Married to Miss Mildred Pearson, of Ames

A quiet and pretty wedding took place Sunday afternoon at the home of the
bride in Ames when Lloyd Dobbert, of LeMars, was united in marriage with
Miss Mildred Pearson.

Attendants of the wedding were Mrs. Emma Dobbert, of LeMars, mother of the
bridegroom, and Mr. and Mrs. Will Vandeharr, of Sioux City, a brother-in-law
and sister.

The young people left on a wedding to trip to DesMoines and other points and
on their return will be at home to their friends on the groom's farm in
Stanton Township.

The bridegroom is a progressive and popular young farmer of this community.
His bride taught school in Union Township and has already gained a number of
friends in the community who will extend her welcome.

Rev. and Mrs. J. J. Vollmar returned home Thursday from a trip to Grimes and
other points east.

Moeller and daughter of Sioux Center; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Groemeyer of near LeMars; Mr. and Mrs. Eilert Miller and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Miller and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Langhout of LeMars; and Mr. and Mrs. John Mammen of Grant township.

Mr. and Mrs. George Siebens of Genoa, Ill., are visiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Miller.
