The wife of our former townsman, John Frank, died near Hawarden, Sioux county, Nov. 25. The funeral was in LeMars, Sunday the 27th.

BAUER-KRIER
At Remsen, Tuesday, December 27, 1892, John C. Bauer and Miss Kate
Krier.
A number of LeMars young people went down to Remsen Wednesday evening to
enjoy the dance and to celebrate the happy event.

COOK-REEVES
At the Presbyterian parsonage, LeMars, Iowa, December 28th,  by Rev. D.
W. Fahs, Mr. Charles H. Cook and Miss Martha J. Reeves, both of Seney,
Iowa.

The New Columbian
Lawrence Clos received several of the new Columbian half-dollars
yesterday, from a friend in Chicago.  These souvenirs are beautifully
executed and show that Columbus did not have his hair cut oftener than
once a year.  The souvenirs received by Clos are the first that have
come to LeMars.  He does not want to sell any of them. 

An Impromptu Party

An impromptu party was gotten up Wednesday afternoon, to be held at the
home of Mr. A. Gronow, in honor of Mr. Leo Gronow, who was at home from
Chicago on a visit.  Games were the feature of the entertainment.  Mr.
Leo Gronow returned to Chicago Thursday evening.

A Bus Line

Mr. C. E. Corkery is talking strongly of putting on a bus line to run
from the north part of town to and from the Normal School building, for
the use of the patrons of the school and others who wish to travel in
those directions.  Mr. Corkery is well prepared to put in the bus line,
having a full line of omnibuses and hacks.  The questions as to whether
who would pay or not, is the only one to be considered.  He is prepared
to give nearly as good service as an ordinary street care line with
horse cars.  There is probably not antoher town in the state of the size
of LeMars where a complete bus line could be put in on such short notice
as in LeMars.
