Ed Stevens and John Trow are out west with a view to land speculation.

William Grieve of Storm Lake was visiting in Kingsley last week.

Howard C. Tripp is taking in the world's fair at Chicago.

Mrs. W.H. Miller and family are visiting with friends at Early.

Schuyler Smith and Alice Cunningham were united in the bonds of matrimony
last week.

Hurd & Co. have dissolved partnership and in the future the business will be
conducted by Elmer Wright, a deservedly popular young man.

Jim Dickinson has opened up in business at Anthon.

Mrs. Chas. Brandon who was recently visiting in Kingsley has returned to her
home.

The City Hotel will be reopened under the management of Mr. and Mrs.
Christiansen, formerly of the Curtis House.

Born to Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Kelso, Wednesday, July 20th, a girl.

Gaspar Bros. intend putting in a stock of dry goods, as soon as the addition
to their store is completed.

Charlie Irons, who owns a large farm south of town, has moved to Kingsley
and resides in the house recently vacated by Mr. Stortz.

Mrs. Jas. Grieve has returned from Storm Lake, where she has been visiting
with relatives.

Born to Mr. and Mrs. C.H. Price, Thursday, July 21st, a boy.

J.M. Higgins, the popular landlord of the Metropolitan, recently purchased a
very handsome and commodious wagonette to convey his patrons to add from the
train.

Friday night a chemical engine was put under trial in Kingsley; and the
mayor and council being satisfied, that it would be a good investment for
the town, purchased one for $650.
