Tuesday afternoon Mr. John O’Neil died at his home in this city.  He was
taken sick a week or ten days previous, which developed into pneumonia from
which he died.
The deceased had been a resident of this town a little more than one year,
coming here from his farm in Humboldt County near Livermore.  He was quiet
in his manner and courteous in his treatment of all with whom he came in
contact.

The deceased was born in Canada, January 15, 1841 and came to this state in
1808 and settled at Ft. Dodge.  February 6th of that year he was united in
marriage at Ft. Dodge to Miss Margaret Noonan.  In 1871 they moved to
Humboldt County to a farm in the vicinity of Livermore and resided there
until they came to this city.

The deceased leaves eight sons and three daughters, some of who reside in
Chicago, and a wife to mourn the loss of husband and father

Knights to Ft. Dodge.
The Knights of Columbus excursion to Ft. Dodge last Sunday was pronounced a
success, 110 tickets being sold from this place.  Those attending, report
that the day was a very pleasant one for all of them, and that the Ft.
Dodgers treated them in a splendid manner.
