Last Monday, 700 head of cattle passed through our town. They were bought in Texas and brought through Kansas and Nebraska to Nebraska City where they crossed the river. They were two weeks in the crossing and lost two head by drowning. They are headed for Illinois, there to be fattened on the grass.
