Reeves-Quiggle
A pretty home wedding was solemnized last evening at eight
o'clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Reeves, when their only
daughter, Esther Clarice (sic--Claris), was united in marriage to
Shirley F. Quiggle of Melvin. As the wedding march was played by
Mrs. Geo. H. Searle, the bridal couple took their places, Rev. C.
M. Westlake of the Congregational church, performing the
ceremony. The bride was dressed in a beautiful gown of white
chameuse and carried a bride's bouquet of roses and lilies of the
valley. After the ceremony, Mrs. Dr. Farnum sang a solo entitled
"Sweetheart". The house was profusely decorated with
bouquets of pink and white roses. Late in the evening a dainty
buffet supper was served. About fifty relatives and friends
witnessed the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Timm of Oacoma, South
Dakota, an uncle and aunt of the bride, were the only out of town
guests aside from the Melvin relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Quiggle left
on the midnight train for their future home in Luseland,
Saskatchewan, Canada, where the groom owns a fine farm. The bride
is one of Sibley's prominent and accomplished young ladies. For
several years she successfully taught in the public schools of
Harris and Melvin, and for the past year has taught in the public
schools at Castana, Iowa. She is a graduate of the Sibley high
school and completed her education at the Iowa State College at
Ames. She is
also a musician and an artist.
