Howard Davis accidentally shot himself in the right hand with a
shotgun last Saturday morning while hunting pheasants. Mr. Davis
was demonstrating th3 action of an automatic shotgun and had his
hand over the muzzle when the second shell exploded, amputation
of the hand being necessary.
Paul Wolff and Arthur Sterrenburg were injured in an auto
accident near Sanborn when the lights of their car went out just
as they drove onto the pavement from the south; and in attempting
to turn the corner in the dark,
went into the ditch.
Starrett Bros. celebrated their 40th anniversary since opening
their store in Sheldon in 1890. They are using six full pages in
this MAIL to advertise the event. They call attention to the fact
that only three businessmen in
Sheldon when they opened are still here - Dr. F. L. Myers, Dr. F.
J. Gallagher and Attorney I. N. McIntire.
