Forty-eight new cars were registered in O'Brien county from July
18 to August 4. They included the following makes: Reo,
Oldsmobile, Ford, Chevrolet, Essex, Hudson, Overland, Dodge,
Buick, Jewett, Hupmobile and Chrysler.
Paul Wolff who has been attending school in Hartford, Conn.,
returned to Sheldon the latter part of the week.

Winners of the ladies golf tournament were -- First flight: Mrs.
Hollander, 1st; Mrs. Clarke, 2nd; Second flight: Mrs. Texter,
1st; Mrs. Loyal Myers, 2nd.
H.B. Peterson made a hole-in-one on the fourth hole at the
Sheldon Golf and Country Club. The distance was 204 yards.
Lieut. Col. H.G. Geiger is a member of the 168th infantry rifle
team which for the third year in succession won the Camp Dodge
marksmanship championship.

Jason Henry returned to Sheldon, Friday from entering his horses,
Miss Minta and Nellie Looksir, in a number of races.
Construction will begin before snow flies on the new temple for
Onyx Lodge No. 419 A.F. & A.M. at Sanborn.
Ralph Hollander entertained a company of friends at dinner at the
home of his parents on Sunday evening in honor of Kermit Myers,
who left on Tuesday for St. Petersburg, Florida, to make his
home.
Edwin and Charles Heiliger have purchased what is known as the
Jackson Ice Cream Wagon from Mr. Price.
Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Rhodes, who have been on a wedding tour to
Europe have returned to the United States.
