At the home of Mr. and Mrs. W.M. Smith in this city on Wednesday
afternoon occurred the marriage of their daughter, Miss Iva Maud
Smith to Mr. Lacey D. Patterson, Rev. W.L. Bray performing the
ceremony. The flower girls were Misses Marion and Mildred Smith,
while Mr. Luverne McLawry bore the wedding ring. The wedding
march was played by John Sassano, the Sioux City harpist. The
arch before which the wedding ceremony was solemnized was
decorated with southern smilax. The decorations throughout the
house were ferns and laurel leaves. The window shades were drawn
and the electric lights turned on. The wedding dinner was served
in four courses in charge of a Sioux City cateress. The bride was
gowned in a beautiful dress of white satin trimmed with Dutchess
lace and pearls. The groom's gift to the bride was a large pearl
heart set with diamonds.
