Mrs. J. G. Brown, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. N. C. Wilkinson, for some time, took the train Friday night for Storm Lake.

Last week our merchant, W. P. Brockman went to Webster City on an extraordinary mission such as has never occurred during his life and which he will never forget. Contrary to his general way of getting things in order to sell them he got himself something to keep forever, that is a better half, as we often say. He was married to one of Webster City's best young ladies, Miss Marie Beulow, last Wednesday by Rev. Willner. After their wedding trip they arrived at Germantown Tuesday evening. The best wishes and God's blessing to the young couple are extended from their many friends.

A son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schroeder of Caledonia township passed away today at the age of two years and five months. The funeral will be held on Saturday.

The four-month's old child of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Westfall, near town, died suddenly Tuesday, death being caused by cholera infantum. The funeral was held yesterday and the burial took place in our cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Sprague were at Greenville, Clay county, this week to attend the funeral of a child of Mrs. Sprague's sister. They returned today.

Death of Mr. Theodore Hass
Mr. Theodore Hass died at his home Friday, September 7, 1900, at about 9 o'clock. His sickness was of about six years duration, but only two months of that time had it been attended by particular distress during which time there was very rapid development until its fatal termination.

Theodore Hass was born July 16, 1865, at Davenport, Iowa. Came to Marcus in 1882 and in 1892 he came to Paullina, Iowa, where he resided the rest of his life. Theo. was well liked by the people in Paullina. His end was very peaceful and he died in full possession of all his faculties. The funeral occurred on Saturday afternoon, the service being conducted by Rev. McCaffree.
