A Sanborn Justice has bound Wm. H. Rickard and Robert Porter over to the grand jury. It appears that Rickard made affidavit that Pearl Stewart, a twelve year old granddaughter of J. L. Matson, was 19 years of age and with this affidavit Porter secured a license and a minister of Sanborn went through the ceremony of marrying the couple. When Mr. Matson discovered the matter he had Rickard arrested for perjury and Porter charged with enticing a girl away.

Amid the excitement caused by the election there came yesterday the sad message of the death of one who was dear to the hearts of many of our people, namely Mrs. James W. Johnson, before marriage known as Miss Minnie Reaney. No sadder intelligence could have reached the lady's friends and the friends of her husband than that conveyed in the message to her relatives in Paullina. The lady's death occurred at her home near Iona, Minnesota, and had been expected for some time, but this fact did not lessen the grief of those who had known and admired her in life. It was intended that the funeral should be held here today, but we learn since that the ceremony has been deferred until tomorrow. The remains will be brought here this evening and it is intended that the funeral shall take place at the Presbyterian church tomorrow afternoon at 1 o'clock, the sermon to be preached by Rev. McCaffree, pastor of the M. E. church. The Times will next week contain a sketch of the life of the deceased.

Sam Reaney and Mrs. Nancy McCracken were called to Minnesota last week on account of the serious illness of their sister, Mrs. James Johnson, who passed away shortly after their arrival there.

Mrs. R. Sunde was called upon to mourn the loss of a brother at Norway, Iowa, last week and in company with her husband departed immediately for that place where the funeral was held on Sunday.
