Lightning Rods Cheap!
I have a lot of first-class lightning rods for sale cheap.
The rods are of the very best manufacture and will be closed out
at reduced prices. Dont fail to call on me when you
are in need of rods. E.P. MESSER.
The residents of the south part of town will circulate a petition
praying for a sidewalk running from the corner of GUENTHERS
shop south to BONATHS addition. The property owners
say they will build walks in front of their lots as soon as the
walk across out-lot No. 6 is completed, and they will also
connect the walk with the street on which Messrs. HORSTMAN,
SCHULTZ and others reside, the connecting walk to run along the
north side of the YOUDE lots. There is some doubt about the
ability of the town council to compel the walk to be built across
out-lot No. 6. This piece of land belongs to the railroad
company, and a walk was once ordered across it, but the company
refused to comply with the demands of the council and the order
was rescinded. The walk is badly needed, and if the council
has the power to do so it should see to it that the walk is
built. The south part of town is getting to be quite
thickly settled, and any one wishing to get from there to the
business portion of town must cross the mud hole on lot
six. Several of the residents are obliged to pass along
there several times each day in going to and from their places of
business. We trust the walk will be built at once without
any trouble.

The Hicks Brothers cleared an even $1,000 on the twenty acre
potato crop last season, and it wasn't much of a year for
Murphies either.
