Joe WADE has sold his restaurant and stock of goods to George
SMITH the photographer, who will put in a new line of goods,
refit the house and proceed to run the restaurant in first-class
style. Mr. WADE will move his family into his residence in
the eastern part of town.
J.F. SHEPARD has purchased one of the billiard tables formerly
owned by NELSON & STROUGH and leased the HOYT building on
Main street and fitted it up for a temperance billiard
hall. Jim will run a good house and use his patrons
well. Give him a call when in want of a good cool drink.
Mrs. Clark PHILLIPS died at her home, five miles south of town,
last Friday, and her remains were shipped to Illinois for
burial. Mrs. PHILLIPS had long been a sufferer from
consumption and has been near deaths door for several
weeks. She leaves a large circle of friends in this section
who deeply mourn her loss.
When you are in town just glance at the lumber yards and see how
they compare with yards in other towns. We are willing to
wager our old shoes that there is not a town in the Northwest
than can show two better stocks of lumber of all kinds than can
be seen at Sutherland. The reason is apparent: our lumber
dealers are of the right kind and are business men.
