Sioux County -- from Dr. De Lespinasse: From 25 to 50 families of
Hollanders will come to Sioux Co. in the fall from Illinois,
Wisconsin and Michigan if the grasshoppers do not visit us. The
Dr. has six medical students at Orange City.
Ex-Governor Miller of Minn., L.A. Gilbert of St. Paul, John F.
Lincoln, Superintendent; Gen. Bishop and two children; J.C.
Boyden and Capt. T.P. Gere reached here Tuesday afternoon by
special train. Gov. Miller says bushels of grasshoppers are being
buried on the spot where he buried the 37 Indians he had hung
after the Indian massacre in Minnesota. The party went out to see
the fifteen hundred acres of corn that Mr. J.L. Kenny has in just
north of town.
