COLUMBUS JUNCTION MAN MARRIES TWICE.
Earl Summerville, of Columbus Junction Has Trouble in Getting Marriage License.

From Friday’s Daily.
Lillian M. Griffith, of Moline, Ill., and Earl R. Summerville, of Columbus Junction, well known in Muscatine, had to do some rapid planning Wednesday in order not to disappoint the 120 friends invited to their wedding in Moline, among them being a number from Muscatine.

Young Summerville is only 20 years old, and found out Wednesday afternoon when he applied for a marriage license that the Illinois law barred him from getting one.  Consulting a lawyer, he found he could get one in Iowa with the proper affidavit.  So, accompanied by the Rev. Richard L. Haney, the young couple hurried to Davenport, secured a license at the court house, and were married on the spot.  Then they went back to Moline and were remarried before the guests in the evening.  Of course, the second ceremony “didn’t count,” but none of the guests knew it.
