The Soldier High School boys defeated Lake View 33 to 13 on the
Soldier floor Friday night. The girls lost their first game of
the season to Battle Creek 25 to 15. Playing for the boys were
Olson, Wingate, Christianson, Peterson and Swenson. For the girls
it was A. Evenson, G. Evenson, Skow, M. McDole, Knutson and
Ballard.
Claus Knutzen who lives east of Soldier had 30 steers on the
Sioux City market Tuesday that weighed 1200 lbs. and brought
$14.85.
Theo Uhlig has been busy the past week tearing down one of
Soldier's old landmarks, the livery stable. The barn has been at
its present site since the new town was started.
A race between a Ford and a Willy-Knight was held on 141 south of
Mapleton last week. The Ford driven by Mr. Vigen of the Mapleton
agency won the race over the six cylinder car by five or six
feet.
B. H. Skow was advertising boyıs knicker suits for $3.00 and
knee pants for $1.00.
