Mr and Mrs Bisbee, their son Roy, Mrs. Clason and Miss Booth
arrived from Chicago Monday morning with the remains of Miss
Marie Bisbee who died in a hosptial in Chicago Saturday night and
was brought here for burial. The funeral service was held at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Clason Tuesday at 10 o'clock. An obituary
will be found elsewhere in this issue.
J. R. Hubbard will sever his connection with Failing's grocery
tomorrow. Mr. Hubbard expects to go to Oklahoma the middle of
April and may decide to locate there permanently . Mrs. Hubbard
will remain here until the close of the school year and then will
visit her people in Ohio for the summer. We greatly regret the
loss of this family from our midst. They will be greatly missed,
both being fine musicans. Mrs. Hubbard is teacher of music in our
public schools, also the chorister in the Congregational church.
Frank Fonda returns to Chicago this week after a few weeks visit
with relatives hereabouts.
Miss Ruth Morrison, an instructor at Ames College is the guest of
Rev. and Mrs. Clark this week.
Mr. Hamlin returned to Chicago today, having been here to attend
the funeral of Miss Marie Bisbee.
Mrs. Roy Penney was called to Waukegan, Ill. Saturday owing to
the severe illness of a little nephew.
Frank Boeck left this afternoon for Waterloo from which place he
expects to travel for a Chicago furnishing house.
Fish & Carroll have put in a fine new gasoline engine this
week and will soon be ready for the ice cream season to open.
Mrs. Heald's two children, Roland and Ruth are reported to have
scarlet fever. The house was quarantined Tuesday.
The home of Roy Gray was quarintined today as their little
daughter has scarlet fever. It is hoped this dreadful disease is
not to become an epidemic here.
Frank Lohr left this morning for West Union, where his wife and
daughter have been visiting for a short time. They will all
return the first of next week.
Inmprovments are being made on the Park Hotel property recently
purchased by Avery Brush. It is reported that Mrs. Bina Kline
will rent it and open a large boarding house.
Rev. Fleming preached at the Methodist church both morning and
evening of last Sabbath, Rev. Clark going to St. Ansgar, Mitchell
and Stacyville to fulfill appointments of the elder.
As a result of the many changes on the Great Western, Conductor
McCoy will move his family back to Osage this spring. Owing to
the fact that his house is rented for two years he will occupy
the H. Hall house on Walnut Street. We are glad to welcome Mr.
McCoy and family back to our city.
