New Haven.
-Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Toelle drove to Charles City.
-Mrs Collman and children of Chicago are here visiting her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lohr.
-L. H. Nichols is moving to Alta Vista this week where he has
purchased a house and expects to build a blacksmith shop this
fall.
-Mr.Catteatu, Mr. Swen and family attended church in Brownville
Sunday.
-Rev. Father Martin of Osage visited Father Berry from Sunday
until Tuesday.
-Mary George returned to her home in Rockford, last Saturday
after spending a month's vacation with relatives of this place.
-Miss Grace Sheldon spent a few days last week with her friend
Nell Ross of Osage.
ORCHARD.
-Frank Evans of Nora Springs, is visiting his brother O. H.
Evens.
-Clifford Penney has been quite sick the past week but is slowly
improving at present.
-Henry Mork is spending his vacation with friends at Clear Lake.
-Miss Cora Harden of LeRoy, Minnesota, is visiting friends in
town.
-Miss Daisy Henry returned from Dakota last week and will spend
the winter with her aunt, Mrs. E. Orchard.
-Will Snively and Will Root left Monday for Minneapolis to spend
the week at the state fair.
-Mr. and Mrs. Tom Sims of Duncomb, arrived Monday for a visit at
the parental home.
-J. A. Eldridge has disposed of his cream route here and accepted
one in Osage, where he will move his family soon. We are very
sorry to lose them from our midst.
-Mrs. Lucy Wixtel of Charles City is the guest of her aunt, Mrs.
Dan Sims.
-Miss Jennie Low visited friends in Osage and atended a party
given for Rev. Coon, Saturday evening.
-Miss Linnie Shotwell is expected Wednesday to spend several
weeks with her cousin Miss Jennie Lee.
-John Robertson has sold his elevator to the Orchard Produce Co.
We hope this doesn't mean that we are to lose Mr. Robertson and
family.
-Mr. Wrum, our rustling depot agent, has accepted the agency for
the Osage Laundry and will send a basket from here every
Wednesday and Saturday. Anyone wishing to send laundry will leave
it at the depot.
-School opened Monday with good attendance. Miss Peterson of
Osage has charge of both departments during the fall term.
-Miss Jessie Conner of Nora Springs, spent last week with her
cousin, Mrs Frances McFarland.
-Roy Thornburg attended the fair in Nashua Wednesday.
-Samuel Hatcher has just completed his new barn on the lots
purchased of John Bryant and will move to town this week, where
he and his son Roy will engage in the machine business.
ECCENTRIC HILL.
-Dickson Brothers have finished hauling corn from Nilesville.
-The funerals of Mrs. Towner and Mr. Mulholland drew many of our
people to Osage last Thursday.
