- Threshing is all done in this vicinity and farmers have no
reason to complain of the small grain crop this year.
The corn crop this year is not producing as good a yield as was
expected. The ears are small and not well defined at the tips and
a large percentage of the stalks have no ears on them.
- Charles Stringer, of Elgin, Ill. is visiting his son, Carl and

pleasant visit we have had for some time was from Mr. and Mrs.
Henry Drake, Cliffe and Miss Elna Osborne who drove out early the
morning of the 17th and spent the day.
The sympathies of all their friends to Mr. and Mrs. Ed Condon in
the loss of their little one, who was taken from them recently.
Inez Miller, a near neighbor, was inconsolable at the loss of her
little pet which she was in the habit of visiting and tending
every day.
The fall rains have restored the life of Beaver Creek, which has
been dormant since last June. Also our never-before-failing
spring, which dried up in July, compelling us to pump water for
stock from the house well, which stood the test.
Sugar has riz; that is the number of pounds for a dollar.
