TEACHER HAS UNIQUE SHOWER

Miss Hoffman, Teacher a Hillsdale, Goes Soon to Wyoming to Become Bride.

The girls of the Y.P.S.I. Club of Hillsdale entertained one of their number, Louella Hoffman, at the home of W.S. Shepard in a very unique way Saturday, November 18. At a set time in the afternoon, the guest of honor was taken to this home, and opon entering was instructed to read the signs before her on a journey over the rocky road of matrimony-which train never returns. Upon opening the door, she beheld eighteen of the club girls, with Mesdames Shepard and Slaughter grouped at the sides of a path through the dining room and parlor marked dot by white. Along this path were strewn many neat packages-rocks along the way-which were collected by the bride-to-be as she went along. These proved to be many useful and beautiful gifts of linen, silver and china, outward tokens of the girls’ love and good-will. One amusing feature of the entertainment was the mock wedding of Miss Belinda Bedstead and Perry Popover. The wedding party included flower girls, ring bearer, bridesmaids and best man, and the bride’s father and mother. The “impressive “ring ceremony” was used. A very dignified priest officiated. After the bridal party had their pictures taken late in the afternoon, a very enjoyable time was spent over the dainty luncheon prepared by Mrs. Shepard. Miss Hoffman, who has taught in Hillsdale several years, and has endeared herself to the entire community is closing the fall term here. She expects to start for Upton, Wyo., about December 9, there to be married to Robert Rankin, an energetic young ranchman of many sterling properties. The best wishes of her many friends follow her.
