GLENWOOD BUSINESS CHANGES

The Martin Lumber Yard Has New Owners-Change in Glenwood Auto Co., and Free Grocery

The deal was completed this week whereby the T.F. Martin Lumber Co. yard changed ownership. This was formerly the Nold Lumber Co. yard, located on the southeast corner of the square in Glenwood. The purchaser is the Fullerton Lumber Company of Minneapolis, Minn., a large firm of lumber dealers. The change has already taken place, and the new firm is in possession. J.S. Knox is the new manager of the business, and though a young man, comes with years of experience in that line as a guarantee of his ability. The new manager has a wife and baby girl, and the family will make their home in Glenwood just as soon as a suitable house can be secured. We are sure that Mr. and Mrs. Knox will receive a cordial welcome to our city, and it is hoped that they will find our city a pleasant place for a home. The retiring firm sprang into popularity at once after taking up the business here, and have held it during all the time. It is with regret that our business men see them go. C.J. Martin will remain for a time with the new firm to help them get acquainted with the trade. T.F. Martin, the other retiring member, has no plans for the immediate future, but his family will remain in Glenwood for the present.

JUNIOR-SENIOR BANQUET

On Friday evening of last week, the Juniors of the Glenwood High School, did themselves proud by giving one of the nicest banquets to the senior class that was ever given in the old town. It was unique in more ways than one. The Juniors, on this occasion, planned and prepared, and actually took the entire responsibility of this popular function. The menu, cooking, serving, etc., was done by the domestic science department. Two large recitation rooms, and the assembly room were tastily decorated for the occasion. The banquet room was decorated in the Junior colors (maroon and white;) the reception room was a dream of beauty with a color scheme of green and white (the colors of the seniors,) and the assembly room appropriately displayed the colors of the High School (old gold and white.)
