DEATH OF MRS. HENRY RANNE
Mrs. Henry Ranne died at her home in the west side at 11:30 Tuesday night from complications resulting from dropsy and hernia. She suffered a severe operation last Thursday which probably prolonged her life a few days.
All that loving hands and heart could do for her was done, and the end was quiet and peaceful.
Of a family of eleven children, Martha E. Britt was born in Tennessee, March 30, 1844. Her father, Leroy Britt, brought his family to Silver Creek at an early day, and there the children were raised. Mrs. Ranne was the last of the family. One of her brothers, Thomas Britt represented Mills County in the state legislature.
She was united in marriage to Clark Hodges Jan. 20, 1866. He died 24 years ago.
Sixteen years ago she married Henry Ranne, who survives her at the age of 95 years.
Last spring, Mrs. Ranne’s health became so impaired that a trained nurse was called to assist in her care, and she grew gradually worse until the end.
No doubt the ceaseless care she gave Mr. Ranne for the last three years hastened the end.
Short impressive services were held at the home Thursday morning conducted by Rev. Frederick W. Long, assisted by Rev. Wm. Stevenson and interment was in the Malvern
