Old Settler Passes Away
Frederick Baie Dies at The Home of His Son at Seven O'Clock This
Morning
Frederick Baie, one of the oldest residents of this community,
passed away at 7 o'clock this morning, death being due to
ailments of his advanced age. Mr. Baie was born on August 9, 1838
in Brunswick (Braunschweig, Niedersachsen), Germany and came to
the United States in 1866, he has lived here ever since. He was
the father of eleven children, eight of whom survive. They are
Frank and Joseph of Schaller, Iowa, Frederick Baie and Mrs. A. T.
Copeland (sic) of Clyde, ND, misses Emma and Ida Baie, Mrs. F. C.
Brown and Andrew C.Baie of this city. Mr. Baie has for some time
been making his home with his son here, and has been confined to
his bed since April. The funeral will be held at the home
Saturday at 2 pm with interment in the Dunkard cemetery, five
miles south east of town.
