Reunion Sunday At A. W. McClain Home
The McClain reunion was held Sunday, Aug. 13 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. McClain. The day was spent visiting. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. J. E. McClain and son Rex, Mrs. Nora Wilson and daughter Margaret of Birmingham, Mrs. Nettie McDowell, Bertha and Robert McDowell, Mrs. Vera McDowell and daughter Martha Louise, Mrs. Ollie Akerman and son Earl and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Akerman of Ottumwa, Mr. and Mrs. John Akerman and sons Edgar and John L., Mr. and Mrs. Harold Akerman of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Schreiner of Moravia, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Wakefield of Sioux City, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Evans of Fremont, Neb., Forrest Gearhard and daughter Freida and Sondra from Centerville, Miss Fountelle and Lenora Gearhard of Chicago. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kennel and son Jack.

Eighth Annual Randell Reunion
The eighth annual reunion of the Randell family was held at the Lacy State park on the banks of the Des Moines river at Keosauqua Aug. 20, 1939. A bountiful basket dinner was enjoyed by all at the noon hour, following which a short business session was held with Chellis Randell of Bowen, Ill. acting as president. Officers for the coming year were elected as follows: Irvin Ross of Albia, president, Mrs. Irvin Ross, sec.treas. The meeting adjourned to meet again in 1940 at some state park, preferably at or near Ft. Madison.
Late in the afternoon water melon was served, after which all departed for their various homes. Those attending from Iowa were Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Ross and son Donald of Albia, Mr. and Mrs. F. G. Randell, son Wesley and daughter Vivian and Betty Ann of Cedar, Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Gullick and daughter Gladys and Mrs. Elinor A. Randell of Wright and Mrs. Anna Randell, Winn and G. D. Randell of Oskaloosa.
